Your sales team can benefit from blogging

59091791_MIf your sales team is looking for additional means in which to make connections and create more sales, motivate them to start blogging.

Blogging offers some real perks to businesses. In fact, “Companies with blogs produce an average of 67% more leads monthly than companies that don’t blog. (DemandMetric)”

Consumers like blogs, too. Another stat showed that “80% of internet users interact with both social media sites and blogs. (DemandMetric)”

These are just a couple of data points to show you why salespeople should invest in blogging. But what exactly can your sales team use a blog for? What does it look like in action?

Here’s the thing, blogging is a great platform for salespeople to build an authentic presence with potential consumers. Consumers are more likely to purchase from a person or business that appears trustworthy. The blog platform allows salespeople to develop a persona and cultivate relationships that can translate into sales.

Salespeople can use blogging as a way to share more detailed information about the products they are promoting. They can blog about ways to use the products and their personal recommendations. They can also use blogs as a place to share longer testimonials by asking a loyal customer to write a guest post regarding their own experience.

Blogging is a great way to answer common customer questions. A blog provides another place for your sales team to show off pictures of the products they’re selling. Keep in mind, the blog shouldn’t just be about the products. Expand and discuss topics of relevance.

A blog provides an outlet for salespeople to find additional consumers and engage with them. It’s a great way for salespeople to build a reputation as a thought leader. And, consumers will be more likely to purchase from someone they view as knowledgable on the subject matter.

Blogging provides an additional way for salespeople to increase signups for their mailing list. It provides content that can be hyperlinked in monthly newsletters or emails.

Content marketing is all about creating relationships, building an authentic reputation and making connections that convert to business growth and increased sales. Blogging is one of the easiest ways to do this. Encourage your sales team to start blogging on their own. Success won’t happen overnight, but creating regular, quality content is a great way to establish an online presence and reach a larger number of potential customers. Good luck and have fun!
